One of the leading stores in the world of classic shoes for men, Leffot in New York, will open up a new store in Chicago this fall. Great news for Americas third largest city, and a proof that the people behind Leffot are doing things the right way.

Chicago is ranked as one of the world’s most important business centers, and the interest in classic menswear and good quality products have increased the past few years, as it have in many places around the world. The city have seen some new haberdashers pop up, and Leffot will definitely be a nice addition with their offering of a wide range of great shoes from many great brands.
Leffot was founded in 2008 in West Village in New York by Steven Taffel, and with the offer of a wide range of different quality shoe brands as well as being an early adopter of an extensive online presence the store has been very succesful. Leather Soul on Hawaii, Toronto based Leather Foot, Skoaktiebolaget in Stockholm, Patina HK and many other high-end shoe stores around the world have all been influenced by the work of Steven Taffel and the personnel at Leffot, direct or indirect.

Leffot’s Chicago store will be situated in the historic Monadnock building on South Dearborn Street in the South Loop. A very “Chicagoesque” building if you ask me, located in the centre of the city. It will be interesting to see which brands they will take with them to the new store, and not least how many of all those who are now doing trunk shows regularly in their New York store, which also will visit Chicago. Great times to come for shoe nerds off Illinois, that’s for sure.
