This year, many have started their summer sales earlier than usual, and among the classic shoe retailers there are many places to find good bargains now. Here’s a review of some nice ones (UPDATED WITH MORE SALES JULY 30).

A Fine Pair of Shoes

British A Fine Pair of Shoes is one of several successful British online stores for classic shoes. They currently offer 25% off a variety of models, as well as shoe care products and accessories. Among other things, you will find models from Alfred Sargent, NPS, Sanders and Berwick 1707. Please note that you should click on the Summer Sale banner on the start page and when you add any of the products there in your basket and at checkout enter the discount code summer2018, 25% will be deducted. There is also a sales department in the menu, with a few other models.

New & Lingwood

More British, from old menswear store on Jermyn Street in London, New & Lingwood (who once had its own bespoke shoe workshop), as usual offers a good deal on many models when they go on sale. Reduced by about 30% on their solid Northampton-made shoes.

Upper Shoes

French Upper Shoes has between 20-50% discount on models from among others Carmina, Alden, Church’s, Heschung, Tricker’s, Cordwainer and Santoni. Not that many sizes remain in most cases, however, you can sort on your size in the filter tool (affiner) and cross your fingers.

Septieme Largeur

Septieme Largeur has many nice suede models in their summer sale this year (the top image is from them), reduced by between 20-40%, so down to around €200 in many cases. Note that there are some different specifications nowadays, some slightly cheaper models have an open sole channel and not the wood pegged waist which is otherwise a bit of SL’s signature.

Mr. Porter

Onlie giant Mr. Porter has a discount on shoes where they have some odd sizes left, making it possible to find brands that are rarely found on sale, such as Berluti, Edward Green and John Lobb Paris. Also models from Tricker’s, Cheaney, Cleverley, Grenson, Red Wing, and others. Pretty decent reductions in many cases, between 30-50%.

The Swedish store Lester focus mainly on workwear shoes and more casual stuff, they have a 30-50% discount on not only a lot of models from American Chippewa, but also Loake, RM Williams, Sanders, Red Wing, Grenson and Wolverine. If you are looking for new good sneakers, it may also be worth checking out their sales offerings here.

One of the larger offerings on the virtual sales table of the tips in this post. British manufacturer Cheaney has many models from all its different ranges at  around 40% off.

Bodiley’s is a Northampton-based online store that sells several UK brands, but also has its own range of shoes produced locally. It is mainly models from this range that is included in their sales, there are some nice stuff worth checking out.
