Buying tip - Abbot's Shoes Archive Sale

One of the main players of second hand welted footwear in Europe, Abbot’s Shoes from the UK, has introduced their Archive Sale section. Here all shoes that’s been with them for over a year will end up, with a 10% discount on the previous pricing. Hundreds of shoes are part now, and new will be added weekly.

The fact that welted quality shoes in general have a relatively decent second hand value is a great thing with this type of footwear. These are shoes that can last for many, many years, if people would just throw away pairs that they don’t wear much for whatever reason, it would be a tremendous shame. Nowadays, it’s easier then ever to both sell and buy used quality shoes (learn more in this article, for example). Apart from the standard options like Ebay and similar local sites, we have a bunch of more specialised marketplace sites and forum Buy and sell sections, and now more and more of the specialised second hand stores focusing on welted footwear. Abbot’s take in used quality shoes, recondition them, and sell them off at good prices with the possibility to return them if for example fit wouldn’t work. I know a bunch of people who’ve done great finds on their site. To make sure they make room on their shelves for “new” used shoes to come in, they have now introduced an Archive Sale section. It’s simple, if a pair has been with them for over 12 months without being sold, they will automatically end up in this section and at a 10% discount to the previous price set. I checked around now, and it’s really a wide range of stuff available, lots that I’m surprised haven’t been picked up yet.
