I have previously here on the blog written about how luxurious shoe boxes nowadays often are used to create an exclusive experience for the customers, not least among bespoke shoemakers. French Berluti play in the top league when it comes to this, with their handmade and hand painted wooden boxes that match the shoes ordered.

Nothing have been left out here, note for example the ventilation holes on the sides which are there to achieve good air circulation, since many shoes use them to store their precious footwear at home. All bespoke customers get these boxes, but since the price starts at about €6,000 it’s reasonable to expect a “spared no expense” approach, as John Hammond would have said.
