Suitably in time for spring, the American footwear company Red Wing releases a new low version of their famous moc toes, called Shop Moc Oxford. Available in three different leathers, and initially only dropped in Europe and Japan, this is a new potential best seller.

Event – Stitchdown’s Boot Camp

US dress shoe lovers have the NYC super trunk on October 14, but all workwear boot enthusiasts will get their fix the week before, with the first Stitchdown Boot Camp taking place in Brooklyn on October 6-7. A large amount of domestic and a bunch of international boot brands will exhibit, sample sales, panel talks and more.

For those who don’t know, every year there’s a big “boot and shoe aging” contest called the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome, where hundres of footwear lovers wear a pair and cover the aging progression during six months. This year I had a pair of Midas Bootmaker x Skolyx x Dr. Sole moc toe boots in natural semi veg tanned leather, here’s a picture special of how these developed during the past half year.

The US shoe and clothing store Division Road today presented their sixth instalment of The Patina Post, where they showcase how the patina develops on boots and shoes. This round there’s models from among others Crockett & Jones, Tricker’s and White’s boots included, and together with the previous rounds they form a great base to see how footwear in many types of leathers ages.
