It’s not suitable for all shoes, neither practically or aesthetically, but a super slim waist is surely always impressive. This one above is on a new sample by the bespoke shoemaker Catella, alias Daniel Wegan, showcasing terrific craftsmanship.
Sometimes very slim waists can look a bit unbalanced and off, but here it’s executed in a lovely way, so much that it’s almost difficult to capture on photo how extremely narrow the waist actually is even if it’s contrasting a bit towards the pigskin upper. It has a slight ridge, or fiddle back, and is of course blind welted. A different kind to this extreme fiddle back waist by Main d’Or that I shared in a picture post a while back, while both are great.
