Brookman Shoes is a new brand started by one of Sweden’s largest cobblers, Bäckmans Skoservice. Classic British shoes in the mid-range segment.

Italigente, Mano, Broken Bird Bootmakers, Larssons, Myrqvist, Morjas, The Sabot, Skolyx, Löf & Tung – plus surely some I’ve missed – there are really quite many Swedish brands making classic quality shoes nowadays, which is very nice for a Swede like me. An enormous development in just a few years, not long since Italigente was the only one. Most of them are made in Spain, a couple in Italy, but now it’s time for the first Swedish brand with British-made shoes: Brookman Shoes.

As mentioned, it is Bäckman’s Skoservice, one of Sweden’s largest cobblers located in the capital Stockholm, which has produced private label shoes together with a shoe factory in English Northampton. Initially there are two models in black and brown that are released, a plain cap toe oxford and an adelaide, but more models are coming. These are made on a fairly conservative last with a classic round toe, which is slightly wider than normal. Goodyear welted in European full grain leather, leather sole with open sole channel. The price will be €350, but now on Thursday evening 27 September, when they have a launch event between 18-20 in their store and the following day in their online store, they offer a 20% discount plus shoe trees.
