I have taken tens of thousands of pictures on shoes over the years, but there are some that I often come back to and which I’m a bit extra pleased with for various reasons. The photo above is one of these, which despite some technical failures, is making the already amazing pair from Yohei Fukuda look even more amazing.
In addition to the raw material, Fukuda’s wonderful work, the picture is taken from a perfect angle to really highlight its best shapes. The shot is from the top of the mountain Ramberget in Gothenburg, and the whole light gray sky is reflected in the relatively high shined leather, which makes the normally relatively dark burgundy colour shine like a mirror. I also appreciate that there i no special background or something that takes focus from the shoes, they are allowed to shine for themselves.
