The tip - Tarrago WASC, perhaps the best shoe cleaner

I’ve tested loads of different shoe cleaners through the years, some have been more or less useless, most are good, but none has been as extremely efficient yet being rather gentle as the Tarrago WASC Sneakers Super Cleaner (it’s certainly not only for sneakers it works). The fact that it works on all types of leather, suede and textile makes it a real go to cleaner.

As most of you readers would know by now, my everyday job is for the webshop Skolyx, which also is a retailer of Tarrago and their sneakers care range. I always make sure to try out new products we sell, so I can write good product descriptions, give proper advice to customers and so on. When I were to test the Tarrago WASC Sneakers Super Cleaner I took a pair of my oldest kids’ shoes that were in a really bad condition. Tarrago had spoken quite fondly about the product, and often I just test new products once so I wanted to really challenge it.

To say the least, I was thoroughly impressed. Even the white soles of those very dirty kids shoes looked almost new. I had planned to throw the shoes away, but now gave them some Saphir Renovateur spray and saved them for my youngest. Since then, I’ve used the WASC cleaner on lots of different shoes, everything from vintage Freudenberg calf skin bespoke shoes to natural veg tanned workwear boots with white wedge soles. It’s basically always clean great, and has never been too harsh on the material. Sure, for example Saphir’s Medaille d’Or Leather Cleanser is even more gentle on smooth leathers and their Omninettoyant more gentle on suede, but none of them are as efficient as the WASC.

The WASC cleaner may be developed for sneakers, but since it works on basically all materials (I know people use it as stain removers on their clothes as well) it's also suitable for other types of shoes.

The WASC cleaner may be developed for sneakers, but since it works on basically all materials (I know people use it as stain removers on their clothes and carpets as well) it’s also suitable for other types of shoes. Here’s a pair of TLB shoes I’ve first cleaned with the WASC and then polished.

I’ve heard from some cobblers who’ve tested the WASC cleaner that are equally impressed, and those obviously have way more experience on cleaning shoes than I have. They also appreciate that it’s quick and easy to use, one go over the shoes with a moist brush and the product which creates a lather, then just wipe them off with a damp cloth. It’s made of environmentally friendly ingredients, and the bottle contains no gas. Now, as I’ve mentioned, I am biased here working for a retailer of the product, but if you get a chance, test it for yourself and see what you think.

The Tarrago WASC cleaner is also easy to use.
