The web tip - Arno Shoes blog

There’s many blogs out there on shoemaking, and many who covers aspiring shoemakers journey on learning the craft. One of the best ones in my opinion is the blog of Arno Shoes, who both share gathered shoemaking knowledge, writes about starting a shoe brand and venture into other topics.

Arno Shoes is a new brand run by Mikhail Bliskavka and Christine O’Leary, both from the US but who got to know each other at Stefano Bemer in Florence, Italy, where Mikhail went to their shoemaking school and Christine worked supporting the workshop. Mikhail wrote a blog about his journey learning to make shoes and shared this knowledge, eventually it turned into also covering the development of the Arno brand who has RTW shoes made in Mexico, as well as custom orders made by the duo, and the blog moved into the brand’s website.

Sadly though, it’s not updated much lately, which is often the case with all these good shoe blogs out there, but I really hope he will continue to do articles. Nonetheless, if you haven’t seen it before, there’s a bunch of articles covering various steps of shoemaking in a clear and accessible way, visits to tanneries and factories, etc, so worth spend some time reading.
