There the three contestants will have 20 minutes to shine a shoe as glossy and lovely looking as possible. The prestigious contest is organised in collaboration with the premium shoe care brand Saphir.
It’s time to qualify for The Americas Championships of Shoe Shining 2026, with the final taking place at the Super Trunk Show x Stitchdown Expo in Chicago on Saturday, November 7th. During 20 minutes three finalists will polish one factory new shoe as shiny and lovely as possible.
One of the newest products in Saphir’s Medaille d’Or range is the Coated fabric lotion. While its developed for care of coated canvas bags like those from Louis Vuitton, it works equally great to treat shoes made of corrected grain leather, to help prevent the plastic coating from cracking and keep it better looking.
Last weekend the eight edition of the big shoe event in London took place, including having three exciting world championships contests in shoe shining, shoe patina and shoemaking playing out. One of the most underrated products in Saphir Medaille d’Or’s extensive range is, in my opinion, their Nappa cream. Time to start the qualification phase for the World Championships of Shoe Shining and the World Championships of Shoe Patina 2026. The contests are organised together with the shoe care company Saphir and the shoe brand Bridlen, with the finals held at the London Super Trunk Show on Saturday May 9. In the prize pool are medals, shoes and shoe care products and £600 / $800 in each contest, sponsored by Saphir.
Given that Asians have dominated the world championships of shoe shining, we’re in for a treat with the first Asian champs, with the final taking place at the Singapore Super Trunk Show on January 31. Now we can reveal the three finalists, who comes from Japan, Vietnam and Singapore.
