I’ve had quite a few pairs of bespoke shoes made and have gotten to see my feet interpreted into lasts by a number of bespoke shoemakers, and it’s always as fascinated to hold these pieces of wood and realise how your feet actually are shaped, more or less.

 

At least in my cases it’s quite aggressive shapes, with the wide ball of the foot going over to the in some angles very narrow passage up towards the ankle. It’s evident in the left last on the picture above, and this shape is something you want to retain on the shoe, one of the reasons you like doing narrow bevelled waists.
