The British brand Archibald London runs a campaign on everything in their line-up, which means you can get their hand welted Italian-made shoes at only €289, a rare find.

EDIT: Apparently Archibald have been selling shoes that aren’t hand welted, but made with a cheap cemented construction with decorative welt and sole stitch. This since some time April 2020. Read more here on Styleforum.

The company was started a while back as Archibald Optics, selling handcrafted eyewear made in Japan. A couple of years ago they broadened their offering, changed name to Archibald London, and introduced leather goods, clothing, home interior products, and more. Including shoes, where the dress shoes they offer are made by a small company in Modena, Italy. The shoes are hand welted, machine made sole stitch, closed channel leather soles. Have never seen them in real life but they look ok, not super refined, and the leather might not be the best there is. But with the RRP of €450 for an Italian-made hand welted shoe, you can’t expect too much. And  you can get them at only €290, a 35% discount, and that price tag for a European-made hand welted shoe is very rare.

Archibald London present it as a campaign to support their suppliers, so they wave their own upcharge, basically selling their products without making any money themselves, to support the makers they work with. They do a thing with being very transparent, so guess one should trust that. Either way, no doubt that there’s some nice offers now. You need to register with your mail address on the site to get access to the lowered prices, then you can browse their oxfords, chelseas, brogues, monkstraps and also women’s shoes, as well as other products.
