Yesterday this quite dramatic news was spread around the world, that the British bespoke shoemaker John Lobb Ltd. were threatening to take legal action against luxury group Hermès, owner of John Lobb Paris, over the right to use its name. Here’s (likely) the reason why.

John Lobb Ltd. in London is the world’s most famous bespoke shoe firm, and a visit here is like stepping 100 years back in time. Down in the basement they have their mythical last room, where about 10,000 lasts are stored on the shelves.

London is one of the best cities in the world for those interested in classic quality shoes.
