One of the most sought after bespoke shoemakers we have in the world is without a doubt TYE Shoemaker. For many years the only chance to get a pair was to visit them in Tokyo, since a few years they started doing trunk shows in Singapore, and now they are doing their first ever trunk show in New York on May 27-30.
Behind TYE Shoemaker we have the lastmaker and bottom maker Tsyoshi Ohno, and pattern and upper maker Yohei Shiwamura. Since 2011 they have dedicated their life to create the most magnificent bespoke shoes imaginable. While the quality of the making is up there with the absolute best, it’s especially their impressive design work that stands out and have people worldwide dream of one day own a pair of TYE shoes. I’ve visited their workshop and showroom in Tokyo several times, and few places are more inspiring. You can read more about TYE and see more of their shoes in this report.
Most of the brands existence one have only been able to order their shoes in Japan. Since one have to visit at least twice, first for measurements and placing the order, then for at least one fitting, it’s not easily accessible for foreigners. In recent years, by popular demand, they have started doing international trunk shows. Since a few years they regularly visit Mason & Smith in Singapore for trunk shows. And now, after 15 years, they head to the west for the first time.
During May 27-30 they will be in New York for their first trunk show outside Asia. If you’re interested to know more or want to schedule an appointment, contact them on info@tyeshoemaker.com.

When TYE make their fitting shoes, it’s common they do two different versions for left and right shoe with various design features, to let the customer see more of the options they can choose between.
