The Indian brand Bridlen’s latest shoe news is an interesting one, where they’ve developed two new asymmetric lasts that are made to follow the natural shape of the feet. A type of last that was more common a bunch of decades ago, but that seem to be making a comeback more and more. A good middle-way between the more common classic shoe lasts and the frankly often hideous minimalist “barefoot” style lats.
For my feet, which are wide and rather sensitive, I often found asymmetric, more anatomical lasts to work well when it comes to RTW. Notable examples are Alden’s Trubalance and Modified lasts, as well as Vass P2 last. Now I can add Bridlen’s Eron last to that, the last that the apron toe derby shown in this article are made on, which were given to me by Bridlen to give input on the fit. Together with its sibling Land, with a square toe, they are two new asymmetric lasts that Bridlen recently developed.
The Eron last has a wider round toe box, not that high though, and an even more asymmetric shape than Land. It can look a bit off to some, personally I find them just within the right balance. As always is the case with these types of lasts, it’s mainly when seen from above you notice the banana shape, while from many other angles they are more normal. Comfort-wise they are really nice, and I’m sure it’s not just me who would experience it this way.

Its great to see Bridlen continue to evolve. I love a nice asymetric last. Who doesn’t apprciate curves.
Michael: Yeah and for many they are really comfortable!
