I have ordered a pair of bespoke shoes from Japanese Main d’Or, the alias of Eiji Murata. He is famous for being meticulous and for a high level of craftsmanship, which also is apparent in his fitting shoes. The above are the second test pairs, and keep a level that many makers would wish they could accomplish on their final pair.

In addition the MTO premium of 30% is waived this weekend during the launch, so a good opportunity to strike if you’ve been eyeing something that’s not included in the standard range.
Tonight the Swedish shop Skoaktiebolaget launches its new brand in the lineup, which is Carlos Santos from Portugal. The shop starts with a choice of a number of basic models priced at 2 900 SEK (around €310), and also offers a number of models with a patina service.
