Last weekend the eight edition of the big shoe event in London took place, including having three exciting world championships contests in shoe shining, shoe patina and shoemaking playing out. Here’s a substantial report from the day with lots of photos from all the exhibitors, contests and stage happenings.
The Indian brand Bridlen’s latest shoe news is an interesting one, where they’ve developed two new asymmetric lasts that are made to follow the natural shape of the feet. A type of last that was more common a bunch of decades ago, but that seem to be making a comeback more and more. A good middle-way between the more common classic shoe lasts and the frankly often hideous minimalist “barefoot” style lats.
One of the most anticipated events in the world of quality footwear returns to London this spring. On Saturday May 9, the London Super Trunk Show will be held for the eighth time, bringing together leading men’s shoe and menswear brands from around the world. Visitors can expect exhibitions from 13 companies, a free shoe shining service, several shorter stage sessions on shoes and shoe care, the finals of the world championships of shoe shining, shoe patina and shoemaking, and more. Last weekend the first Singapore super trunk took place, and what a day it was! Lots of visitors, great atmosphere, exciting stage happenings including the Asian Championships of Shoe Shining, and more. Here’s a summary from the day with lots of photos.
Time to start the qualification phase for the World Championships of Shoe Shining and the World Championships of Shoe Patina 2026. The contests are organised together with the shoe care company Saphir and the shoe brand Bridlen, with the finals held at the London Super Trunk Show on Saturday May 9. In the prize pool are medals, shoes and shoe care products and £600 / $800 in each contest, sponsored by Saphir.

Given that Asians have dominated the world championships of shoe shining, we’re in for a treat with the first Asian champs, with the final taking place at the Singapore Super Trunk Show on January 31. Now we can reveal the three finalists, who comes from Japan, Vietnam and Singapore.

On January 31 2026 it’s time for the first Singapore Super Trunk Show ever, and with that we also introduce the Asian Championships of Shoe Shining. In 20 minutes three finalists will shine a shoe as lovely as possible, in the prize pool we have medals, shoes, shoe care products as well as 800 USD, given by Saphir.
Third edition of the American edition of the super trunk shows took place the weekend before the last, a great day that gathered hundreds of shoe enthusiasts on Manhattan that browsed the offerings of shoe and menswear companies from around the globe. There were also a bunch of stage sessions on shoe care and shoemaking, the final of the U.S. champs of shoe shining, and more. Here’s a report with loads of photos from the day.
