Last month samples from eight different bespoke shoemakers were gathered at Gallery Quadro in central Tokyo, in ambition to open up for interest from a new group of people. Shoegazing visited the reception, and talked with a few of the shoemakers exhibiting: Nayuta Takahashi and Kiyo Uda who also run Tweed & Mouth, and Ken Hishinuma of Khish the Work.
Last weekend it finally happened. The fourth edition of the London Super Trunk Show took place, a wonderful day who gathered almost 1,200 visitors from around the world, who enjoyed quality shoes in all its shapes and three world championship contests. Here’s a report from the day with loads of photos.
Since it will take a while before I’m finished with the huge posts covering all the 30 contestant shoes of the shoemaking world champs, I always do a quick picture special showcasing the top three, to let folks mind at ease a bit. Last weekend the second edition of the world’s largest open event for classic men’s shoe took place – the London Super Trunk Show 2018. An amazing day with more than 800 people from all over the world who came to have a closer look at all exhibitors and the World Championships in both shoe shining and shoemaking. The first London Super Trunk Show was successfully held this Saturday, with around 800 visitors and shoes sold or purchased for about €62 000/£53 000. It was a great atmosphere during the day, and both exhibitors, partners and visitors was very pleased. Here’s a summary of the day with a lot of pictures.
