Cavour hand welted

The Norwegian menswear store Cavour expand their already great selection of shoes with a new private label range of hand welted shoes, made in collaboration with Chinese Xibao. Superbly sleek looking shoes available to get off the shelf.

Cavour sell all types of classic menswear, and already from the start they’ve made sure to have a good selection of quality footwear. Today they sell, among other things, shoes made in Spain under their own brand, Crockett & Jones, Bontoni, Edward Green, Saint Crispin’s and Stefano Bemer. Now they’ve added another range of their own, hand welted in China in collaboration with Xibao Shoemaker.

Lovely looking split toe derby in hatch grain.

When I recently visited Oslo, the capital of Norway, I got a look at the new range first hand. Here’s a lovely looking split toe derby in hatch grain.

The initial line-up consists of several plain cap toe oxfords, a couple of penny loafers, two split toe derbies and a full brogue oxford. They are all hand lasted and hand welted, with hand stitched sole seam at a fiddle back waist, while front sole seam is done with machine. Leather soles and flush metal toe taps in all cases but one, which has a rubber topy as well. As evident on the photos, the make makes them really sleek, with narrow waists and very tight cut heels. Price is €850 incl. VAT, that is with lasted shoe trees.
