The Northampton based shoe company Gaziano & Girling today announced that they have been awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment, which basically means that they are an official supplier to the Royal family. A highly prestigious endorsement for sure.
If there’s anyone who aren’t fully aware, Gaziano & Girling is a relatively young British company, which started in 2006 by Tony Gaziano and Dean Girling, both with background from the bespoke shoemaking world. They quickly made a name of themselves with their real high-end factory made Goodyear welted shoes, but has also throughout the years always also had a bespoke department running.
Today they announced that the company has been awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment as shoemakers to His Majesty The King Charles III. A royal warrant in the UK is an official mark of recognition granted to companies that have supplied goods or services to the royal household for at least five years and meet high standards of quality and service. It allows the use of the Royal Arms in marketing, which is a prestigious endorsement. British men’s shoe manufacturers who have or have had Royal Warrant’s, that I know of, are John Lobb Ltd., Crockett & Jones, Tricker’s and Loake.

From a visit to the Gaziano & Girling factory back in 2019, when he was still Prince Charles. The company also made the shoes he wore for the coronation. Pictures: Gaziano & Girling
In all monarchies it’s a great honour for companies to receive royal warrants, the same here in Sweden where I live. But given that the UK is “The King of Monarchies”, and that UK’s manufacturing of quality men’s shoes has a really strong heritage, it’s of course a bit extra special here. Not least to be such a young company as Gaziano & Girling is, in this context, makes it stand out.

Great post , Thanks for sharing.
