The second super trunk show in Amsterdam took place earlier in October, a bunch of great shoe brands and style exhibitors was gathered in the lovely Vondelkerk – which became the church of shoes for one day. Get a feel for the event in this report housing both a film and loads of great photos from the day.
About a year ago the Swedish retailer Skolyx introduced two ranges of workwear boots, fully handmade ones from the Indonesian maker Midas Bootmaker, and Goodyear welted from the Spanish brand Yanko. Now it’s launch time for a bunch of new models from both brands – service boots, moc toe boots and NST boots – where the ones from Midas also are in collaboration with hyped sole manufacturer Dr. Sole.
It was three years since, but the past weekend it was finally time for the Stockholm edition of the super trunk shows again. Six shoe companies and three partners exhibited, lots of shoe shining happenings including the Swedish champs, second hand marketplace and much more. Here’s a summary of the day with loads of photos.

Wearing down the heel lining is a common issue, especially if it’s loafers or other shoes where you tend to have a bit of heel slippage going and which you might wear barefoot as well, which increases friction. The simplest solution to this is attaching these self-adhesive shoe repair patches.

It’s confirmed! On Saturday May 7 it’s finally time again for one of the world’s largest open event on classic shoes, The London Super Trunk Show, organised by Shoegazing and The Shoe Snob. In the middle of London on 12 Regent Street, we gather more than ten brands from all over the world, interesting partners, there will be the World Championships in Shoe Shining and Shoe Patina, plus the World Championships in Shoemaking will have it’s award ceremony and competition shoes displayed. This week we at Skolyx had world premiere for a new range of affordable workwear boots by the renowned Spanish brand Yanko. Service boots, moc toe boots and NST boots in various leathers, including Shell cordovan offerings.
One of the most praised Indonesian bootmakers – Midas Bootmaker – has collaborated with the Swedish store Skolyx on the first RTW collection ever for the brand. Hand lasted, hand welted, handmade sole stitch (even for rubber soles), hand built heels, with real leather toe and heel stiffeners – serious craftsmanship now easily accessible widely.
