Today the shocking news came that Tommaso Melani has passed away. He took over the Italian shoemaking company Stefano Bemer after its founder died in 2012, and has been doing an incredible job with developing the firm and established it as one of the most important Italian classic men’s shoe companies. A truly sad day for the shoe world.
With relatively simple things one can create something completely unique, even if the base is still highly traditional both in terms of design and construction. This shoe here by Stefano Bemer is a great example of this.

The Italian brand Stefano Bemer has just introduced a new innovation within the world of classic footwear, where an NFC tag embedded in the shoe makes it possible for customers to scan any shoe with a smartphone and apart from regular product info also find info on the specific materials used, where it’s sourced and so on.
