After Stockholm and London, it’s now time for the super trunk show events to arrive in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Organised by Shoegazing and The Shoecare Shop, Dutch retailer of shoe care, shoes and accessories. It takes place at Cristofori Concert Hall of the Playing Circle, a beautiful venue located right in the middle of Amsterdam, on Prinsengracht 583-V. The venue is on the top floor of a classic canal house, there will be signs from the entrance making it easily accessible.
The event is open for everyone between 12.00-16.00, free of charge, however you should register here on this link. There you also have the possibility to buy early access tickets for €35 where you may enter the venue already at 11.00 to check out the shoes first with coffee and a bite, invited to drinks after 16.00, and also get a free shoe shine by the Shoecare Shop staff and a shoecare kit from Saphir (value €30). There’s also a dinner ticket option at €100, where you apart from the above also get to join a dinner after the event with all the exhibitors and other participants.
Apart from all the shoe, shoe care and clothing exhibitors (who are introduced further below), we have the top trio from the World Championships in Shoe Shining 2019 and winning shoes in the patina world champs on display, plus then of course the first Dutch Championships in Shoe Shining. This contest is organised in collaboration with Saphir and Dumco, where a Magnanni shoe from the store Zwartjes will be shined. In line with other shoe shining contest three finalists will have 20 minutes to polish the shoe as nicely as possible, using wax polish and shoe brush from Saphir, water, nylon cloth plus their own polishing cloth. Jury will be me, Jesper Ingevaldsson of Shoegazing, Bas van Exter from The Shoecare Shop, and representatives from Saphir and Zwartjes/Magnanni. Dutch residents can try to qualify by sending in a picture of a pair of shoes they’ve shined themselves, no later than February 9, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
