The Austrian brand of hand welted shoes, Zonkey Boot, launched a new really nice and informative website this week, and with that also introduced the possibility to order any model in any of four different widths with no upcharge. To celebrate the launch they offer a 10% discount on all orders during this week.
One of the most interesting new brands that’s been introduced lately is Acme Shoemaker. Based in Beijing, they are a serious contender to making the finest RTW shoes in the world, and also offer MTO, MTM and full bespoke, all at very competitive prices. Here’s a substantial buyer’s guide to the brand, with an MTM order I’ve done as base.
The Swedish store Skoaktiebolaget today launches its latest addition to the brand flora in the store, nothing less than British Foster & Son, which this year opened the first new shoe factory in over a decade in British Northampton. Premium shoes of the finest kind is what it’s all about.
Passus is a new highly interesting Hungarian brand in the premium segment. The man behind the brand is Reszo Kuti, legendary former Sales Manager at Vass, and they offer completely handmade shoes that combine Eastern European craftsmanship with elegant Western European design.
Now the Norwegian shoe store has launched its own premium line Skomaker Dagestad by Santari, shoes of the absolute highest level which are, for example, hand welted and have hand-sewn waist with a real blind welt, about 50 hours are spent on each pair. The price is about €1,300 and no upcharge for MTO.

Today the British premium brand Gaziano & Girling launched a brand new range: Classic. With more traditional last shapes and models and slightly less worked waists and other modifications, they step down a bit in price and open up for new customers.
It is one of Northampton’s most reputable shoe factories, producing shoes for what’s probably the strongest brand. Shoegazing visited John Lobb Paris’ well-trimmed complex and documented the production in text and lots of images.
We are very happy to once again invite you to the world’s largest open event for classic shoes, the London Super Trunk Show, organized by Shoegazing and The Shoe Snob.
