Now the Norwegian shoe store has launched its own premium line Skomaker Dagestad by Santari, shoes of the absolute highest level which are, for example, hand welted and have hand-sewn waist with a real blind welt, about 50 hours are spent on each pair. The price is about €1,300 and no upcharge for MTO.

Today the British premium brand Gaziano & Girling launched a brand new range: Classic. With more traditional last shapes and models and slightly less worked waists and other modifications, they step down a bit in price and open up for new customers.
It is one of Northampton’s most reputable shoe factories, producing shoes for what’s probably the strongest brand. Shoegazing visited John Lobb Paris’ well-trimmed complex and documented the production in text and lots of images.

In the middle of London on Saturday April 7 we gather more than 10 brands from all over the world, interesting partners, there will be the World Championships in Shoe Shining, and the first World Championships in Shoemaking will have it’s award ceremony and competition shoes displayed. I regularly meet people from the shoe world and talk about things that may not fit in a big report or touch on any news or the like, but which can still generate interesting posts, so I’m starting a new article series with interviews of people from the shoe industry. First out is Marco Facchinetti, the Milanese who took over the company when his friend Riccardo Bestetti passed away last year.
We are pleased to present this year’s edition of the Shoegazing Super Trunk Show in Stockholm Saturday September 2. This year we focus a bit more on Swedish online companies, the line-up will be Myrqvist (Herrstil), Yanko (Skolyx), The Sabot (also with Andrés Sendra, Antonio Meccariello and Yohei Fukuda), Jan Kielman and Hiro Yanagimachi. Plus Swedish Championships in Shoe Shining, shoe care workshop and an open Q&A with people from the shoe industry.
The first London Super Trunk Show was successfully held this Saturday, with around 800 visitors and shoes sold or purchased for about €62 000/£53 000. It was a great atmosphere during the day, and both exhibitors, partners and visitors was very pleased. Here’s a summary of the day with a lot of pictures.
Today the Swedish shoe store Skoaktiebolaget launched its latest addition to their brand flora- Italian Paolo Scafora – with a trunk show with the brand. Scafora makes hand welted shoes of very high standard, and has both RTW, MTO and bespoke.
