Finally time for super trunk in Stockholm again, on Saturday 24 September. Six shoe exhibitors from different parts of the world, plus three partners exhibiting. Also featuring, among other things, Swedish Championships of Shoe Shining, spit shine shine workshop, free shoe shine service and of course Shoegazing Market – the second hand marketplace for selling and buying quality second hand shoes.
At the London Super Trunk Show back in May we had the second edition of the World Championships of Shoe Patina, where three contestants were to paint a pair of crust leather shoes during the day. These here are the winning shoes from then, painted by Toan Junie who is working for Corthay in France.
Spanish brand TLB Mallorca has introduced a new range of models made in Shell Cordovan. The take is a bit special, where the ten different models are made upon request and the customer can choose any type of leather, sole etc, without any MTO upcharge.
The qualifications are open to the finals of the World Championships in Shoe Shining and the World Championships in Shoe Patina 2022, two great contests organised together with Saphir. Finals take place at the London Super Trunk Show on Saturday May 7 2022. The patina finalists will paint their shoes during the whole event, and the shoe shiners have 20 minutes to shine a shoe as lovely looking as they possibly can.
It’s confirmed! On Saturday May 7 it’s finally time again for one of the world’s largest open event on classic shoes, The London Super Trunk Show, organised by Shoegazing and The Shoe Snob. In the middle of London on 12 Regent Street, we gather more than ten brands from all over the world, interesting partners, there will be the World Championships in Shoe Shining and Shoe Patina, plus the World Championships in Shoemaking will have it’s award ceremony and competition shoes displayed. Between October 1-5 TLB Mallorca runs their first ever Made to Order event, where they remove the normal upcharge for a personalised model, so prices are the same as for regular RTW models.
Shoes crease, that’s a fact and everyone knows it, yet it’s likely the thing that dress shoe buyers obsess the most about. I’ve been writing several posts on the topic (links below) to give a better understanding on how and why shoes crease, and what’s healthy creases and what might not be. Shown on the photo here surely is an example of some very fine creasing on the Spanish leather.
This week I bought a new pair of TLB Mallorca Artista shoes, a pair of reverse stitch toe derbys in dark brown hatch grain. A really great model, definitely worth it to share a bunch of pics of the goodies.
TLB Mallorca continuously develop their offerings, and the today they introduced the brand new last Van Gogh to their Artista range, as well as a bunch of new models made on it. Some really great stuff here.
