Today the Chinese brand Yearn Shoemaker launched a new website aimed on the international market. Their very fine fully handmade shoes at prices starting from €340 now take a huge leap in accessibility, which now can be bought with about a weeks delivery time all over the world.
Crockett & Jones is one of those brands that you rarely find on sale, especially on the staple models. Well the coronavirus situation has changed a lot, and currently the British store Pockets, who already have pretty low prices, have a 15% discount sitewide, meaning you can get C&J shoes from €350.
It’s not every day new brands that make shoes in their own factory in British Northampton pops up. Newman & Regent manufactures Goodyear welted RTW/MTO shoes in the lower midrange price segment, and also offers factory-made bespoke for about €850.
Over the weekend, Spanish Carmina runs a campaign where the MTO charge is waived, which means you can order a completely personalised shoe, both men’s and women’s, at the same cost as models from the regular RTW range.
One of the Japanese RTW brands that are famous also outside their home country is Miyagi Kogyo. The first retailer in Europe is the Norwegian store Skomaker Dagestad, I have tested one of their models from Kogyo, which is dissected in this review.
In the work with developing TLB Mallorca’s new top range Artista, which I was involved in, the main challenge was probably to get to the very narrow waist we were looking for. That is why I’m so pleased with a picture as this above that shows how well it succeeded.
The Swedish online store The Sabot is now launching its new, own brand Amblier, with Spanish-made Goodyear welted shoes in the midrange segment, where focus is on real classics.
Artista is a new top range from the Spanish brand TLB Mallorca, a range that I’ve been involved in developing, through my work for their retailer Skolyx. It’s an ambition at bringing some features taken from bespoke shoes into the midrange price segment of Goodyear welted shoes, offering a lot for the €425 they cost.
