The famous Swedish shoe store Skoaktiebolaget will be closing their brick and mortar shop at the end of February, after being an important player in Scandinavia and internationally ever since they opened a decade ago. Now they will be an online store only with a much more limited offering. This will mean a big sale starts in store on Tuesday January 25 to clear a lot of the stock.
It’s always great to see playful yet highly wearable takes on classic shoe models. Pictured above is a seamless wholecut lazyman faux adelaide wingtip oxford – certainly not a standard to find on the shelf in your shoe store.
One of the lovely things with famous bespoke shoemakers launching RTW ranges is that the beautiful last shapes of some of the most famous lastmakers becomes more accessible. The latest in line is Foster & Son who has used bespoke lasts by legendary lastmaker Terry Moore as base for their RTW lasts. Pictured here is a RTW semi brogue on Moore’s iconic soft square toe shape.
The Swedish store Skoaktiebolaget today launches its latest addition to the brand flora in the store, nothing less than British Foster & Son, which this year opened the first new shoe factory in over a decade in British Northampton. Premium shoes of the finest kind is what it’s all about.
Today it’s the world premiere of the Shoegazing Podcast, the first podcast in the world about classic shoes. In the first episode I interview Patrik Löf of the Swedish multi-brand shoe store Skoaktiebolaget, we talk about the latest but hopefully not the last golden years for classic shoes, about the challenges with tanneries who have started hiding defects on leathers, about the aim with their own brand Löf & Tung, and much more.
A good sale is always appreciated by you readers, and one of these started at Skoaktiebolaget today, with lots of models from all their brands reduced by between 20-30 percent in most cases. Among other things, everything remaining from Carlos Santos and Paolo Scafora, since they will stop carrying those brands.
